The Secret To Brendon Burchard’s Amazing Success Story

Brendon Burchard Bio

Brendon Burchard

Brendon is a high performance coach, personal development trainer, renowned speaker and best-selling author. Oprah and SUCCESS magazine call him “one of the most influential leaders in personal growth and achievement”. Forbes named him the “leading high performance coach in the world”.

Brendon Burchard was born in Montana, United States in 1977. He is married to Denise Burchard.

Growing up he didn’t have a lot of ambition until a car crash at age 19 when he came face to face with the reason for his existence. This crash happened shortly after his high school sweetheart cheated on him, he dropped out of school and he was left depressed and suicidal. He asked himself after this:

Did he live?

Did he love?

Did he matter?

This gave him some clarity and he put things into perspective. That is when he became a happy guy. He started reading books b y Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Og Mandino, etc. This made him progress faster than his peers.

In 2003 he started writing his first book. He handed the manuscript to his dad who read it and gave him a tight hug with tears in his eyes. Even with a good manuscript, no book agent wanted him and he even went broke organizing workshops and events to promote his message. He taught himself code and used it to develop his first website. He moved in with his then girlfriend Denise to manage costs. He was struggling so much and one night he saw her crying under the sheets and resolved to either make it as a writer or die exhausted from trying. In 2007 an agent finally signed and got him a publisher but they didn’t do a great job for his book. This made him to learn all what it takes to launch a book, a skill that subsequently helped him work with Ariana Huffington, Tony Robbins and others and made him a sought-after marketer.

His approach was to launch books as a sort of gateway to serving people through coaching, events, trainings, videos and via social media.

In his books he tells no stories about himself because he isn’t interested in becoming a public personality.

His first ever workshop had 20 people in total, with 8 being friends/family. He wrote a book called the MOTIVATION MANIFESTO with a tone and style similar to no other books before it.

High Performance Habits

He was spurred to do research for this book (High Performance Habits) when one of his clients gave him an ultimatum: he either sees results in his life or he drops Brendon as a client. At that time Brendon was doing things the ordinary way just like every other coach but decided to go back to the drawing board. It took him 3 years, research in 195 countries and 2 million people data points to prepare for this book. It is the biggest high performance study ever done.

During the course of his research, he found out that top performers have recurring habits. Unlike the general concept that successful people are unhappy, tired and generally unfulfilled, he realized that:

  1. They all seek clarity
  2. They generate energy
  3. They raise their emotional drive to make optimum performance a necessity
  4. They increase productivity
  5. They demonstrate courage and confidence and
  6. They develop influence

In 2011, he had an accident in Mexico where he went for a friend’s wedding and ended up with brain injury. He was in the middle of a $2 million book deal and he went back to thinking and writing “like a 6 year old”, his doctor said.

He was terrified because he had trouble with coordination, vision, memory, emotional control and language. Fortunately he recovered after 18 hard months.
