10 Oct Amazing People to Follow on Instagram for Personal Development
You know how we tend to feel guilty for browsing aimlessly only to raise up our heads to find that we just blown through an hour of our day? I used to feel that way and I still do sometimes when I’m browsing on Facebook because, let’s face it, we just see pictures and updates from friends and not even 1/10th of it is important. Like yea, we could get the news that someone just got married and that’s cool but not every day. Social media is mindless entertainment most of the time.
But hey I decided to do something about that and concentrated on curating my Instagram feed (which is the social media platform I now spend the most of my time on due to the quality of self-development information I get on it). I unfollowed all useless pages I was following and found some real gems which I must say have greatly improved the quality of my life.
Imagine browsing Instagram for fun and leaving feeling motivated, having learnt something new or better still having a new tip to add to your life that might just be the thing that will cause a shift in my money, health or relationship.
So Molombi will you stop telling us about how wonderful your feed is and just give us the soup for the soul? Thank you
Ok so, I narrowed the list to the 7 top pages I follow and here you have it:
Want to know more about me and why I blog? Click here.
Marisa is what I call an all-round life therapist. She regularly post quotes but the best part are the videos on her page that give you million dollar virtual therapy sessions. I don’t know if it is the law of attraction at work but I always see her posts on issues that I need answers to most at a particular moment. Weird and amazing right? I have adopted the I AM ENOUGH mantra from her which makes me feel worthy of the best and now, interestingly I am attracting the best. Go follow her @marisapeertherapy
Do you know those women whose words just give you a certain oomph to drive through your day? Lisa, wife of Tom Bilyeu owners of the billion dollar company QUEST is always dropping some real gems of wisdom. She is all about girl power and being who you want to be unapologetically. She also hosts a show, WOMEN OF IMPACT where she brings many amazing women to share their thoughts and her feed always has the best snippets from these shows. Check her out @lisabilyeu or @womenofimpact
Nathalie Elizabeth Ellis
If you are getting the gist you’ll have noticed that I keep raving about the women. Sorry, can’t help it. I just love me some powerful women on my feed. Nathalie is the CEO of BOSSBABE and her content is so classy with direct powerful quotes, most of which are original based on her journey in life and business. She is so put together and everything about her screams “GOALS” to me. Engage on her feed @iamnathalie or @bossbabe
Now this one, she’s a powerhouse. Her financial acumen is to die for, girl knows her money and she can preach it too! She comes in with long captions that will challenge you, teach you and leave you with new-found resolve. She is a financial coach. Go follow her please @allysonbyrd
Mel is a talk show host and author. You may probably have heard about her 5 SECOND RULE. A brilliant way you can use to get things done when feeling lethargic. She so real and raw and uses her own life like an example sharing her high and low moments with all the lessons she’s learnt along the way. Wanna know more? She’s @melrobbins
Drumroll please…. For the first guy who makes the cut. This one is special. Maybe it’s cos he’s always happy and teaches people how to be too, or maybe cos he has real wisdom having made himself a super high performer and is now a coach. There are countless lessons I get from him each day on my feed. Just yesterday I watched his Instagram channel and he talked about the fact that happy people have 2 things; something specific they look forward to in the future with enthusiasm and they have a sense of a positive legacy they want to leave behind. Get to know him @brendonburchard
This one is a real MVP. His quotes and nuggets of wisdom are super real and straight to the point. I love how he demystifies being successful by pointing out what works and what doesn’t. he gives advice on how to deal with people, work ethic, discipline and motivation. Meet him virtually @lawofambition
So there you have it. Where I get a stream of regular life changing advice that keeps me on my A game. And the best part of it is that it’s free! But just as a reminder, its not about reading quotes and learning tips. The real deal is in how much of it you can apply to your life.
Which of these people do you already follow and which are you tempted to start following for your self development? What have you learnt from them? That is if you follow any one of them. Or better still, give me the handles of anyone you can suggest I follow too!
Stay in the light!
